On 29th March - Co-Head of Research from UralSib — held a master-class in applied corporate finance at the Corporate Finance Center at the Higher School of Economics "IPOs and the Research Process".

In the beginning Mr. Iskyan discussed the reasons why companies go public, the underwriter’s role in IPO and how the research process should be organised. Then Mr. Iskyan, using an example of a real company that was willing to go public, showed how he organised the research process starting from the industry context, value drivers and ending with a financial model, its assumptions and the final valuation. After the presentation Mr. Iskyan answered numerous questions concerning IPOs in Russia, valuation techniques, etc.
